Local Agency Project Agreement – Highway 31
Spring Hill has authorized the Mayor to enter into a Local Agency Project Agreement with TDOT for the environmental phase of Hwy 31 widening.
While completing the federally required environmental study does not guarantee the project will enter construction, it nonetheless is an important step the City must take for this very important widening project.
Completion of the environmental study is expected to occur in early 2021.

Clint McCain Appointed Interim Alderman for Ward 1
With the resignation of former Alderman Chad Whittenburg in December, the Board of Mayor and Alderman have appointed Clint McCain to serve as interim Alderman until the April 11, 2019 City Elections.
Clint has been involved in numerous City, County and local non-profit organizations for many years.
UHaul Proposal for Highway 31 and Miles Johnson Denied
Spring Hill’s Planning Commission recently denied a sketch plan for a proposed UHaul Storage and Truck Rental facility by a vote of 0-7.
I’m Running For Re-Election in 2019
Spring Hill will hold City elections for four new Aldermen in 2019.
Regardless of where you live in Spring Hill, you are able to vote for candidates in all four City Wards.
If you’re not already registered to vote, you need to do so by March 12th. You can register through the Secretary of State’s office, using this link
Early voting will begin March 22nd. Election day will be April 11th.
Quick Items of Note
Closure of Miles Johnson south of Duplex has been reopened. Miles Johnson north of Duplex will now be closed until at least January 26th (potentially longer dependent upon weather). Benvento Drive will be closed at Duplex Rd until the middle of April. Both Duplex Rd and Beechcroft Rd construction projects overall remain on schedule….the Pipkin Hills neighborhood streets will be resurfaced in the spring….updates to the Major Thoroughfare Plan remain on schedule – look for Planning Commission action in March 2019…The Planning and Codes departments have moved to Northfield.
