ProjectsMajor Thoroughfare Plan

February 13, 2019by Matt Fitterer5

Completed in 2015, modified in 2017 and updated in 2019.

Completed by the Planning Commission and adopted by the Board of Mayor and Alderman, the MTP maps out the long term needs of Spring Hill’s major road way needs. The Major Thoroughfare Plan has allowed the Planning Commission to demand dedication and new roads construction to be completed at developers expense; speeding improvements to the City’s roadway network at a lower cost.

Hi Matt: I’m new to the area having moving to Spring Hill in mid 2017. I’ve attended a few of the city planning meetings in regards to roads and future plans. I don’t know what the plan is for Main Street and the intersections of Duplex Road and Beechcroft Road. The recent renovation of Duplex Road did not improve the traffic jams at the intersection at Main Street and Beechcroof. The two traffic signals (Duplex & Beechcroft) being so close make that impossible. Is there a plan to consolidate the two traffic signals into one intersection? That would mean to connect the two Roads at Main Street. That would be a big improvement.

Maybe this is already the plan – hope so.

      Hi Ralph
Duplex, Beechcroft and Hwy 31 are all state roads. I don’t believe TDOT has any near term plans to make any intersection improvements at Beechcroft and 31.
Duplex as you know is still under construction – so the renovation is not complete.
